Tournament Introduction The reason of playing this game is to have fun. A good way to have fun is to fight in PvP and MvM. (...) Definitions   PvP = player versus player MvM = multi-player versus multi-player (...) Old players must surely remember the old Bar, while new players are wondering what is about. The Bar from Argent City was the most crowded place where all kind of players were gathering to fight each other, to test their strength and claim glory. That was like some years ago ... ... now is empty, sadly. Lets revive that joyful place once again, for the greatest pvp tournament for NEWBIES. ?m159

Tournament Prizes The prizes will be announced at the beginning of each tournament, by the host. Each time you participate, you will receive a Participating Point. If you are in the winning team, you receive an additional Point. Collect 5 Points and exchange for: *NOTE: access to plvler LV 3 is only available for Newbie School members, in the limit of plvler's availability. ?m045

Participating Instructions finding the place The tournament will take place in Mystical Ocean region, Caribbean Sea server, Argent City, PvP Bar (from harbor). coming at the right time The time will be announced on this page with at least few days before the tournament starts. creating your battle character This is one of the hardest part. You need to: choose your class, level up to 30, get a nice equipment, choose the right skills, choose a nice build, fit into our regulations. The tournament regulations are there ---> You can buy normal equipment from NPC or ask for some skeletar chests for better ones. Or you can always count on the newbie yellow box. As for the skills and build, I will give few suggestions later on this page. listening to hosts and judges There will be one host (probably me) and maybe some few judges/journalists/GMs etc. The host will choose how will the contest take place. Most probably there will be only MvM matches, since PvP is not very significant at lv 30. There will be more rounds and your team will need to win 2 out of 3 battles (or 3 from 5) to win the round and be qualified to the next one. There will be teams on 3-4 participants. The teams will be made by host or by participants. The 5th members of the teams will be the host and/or the judges/journalists/GMs (all crusaders), who will leave the party and watch the battle from Stealth. preparing for your battle Every participant has the right to receive ONE official buff, other than the self-buff. The buffs are: attack increasing, speed increasing, defense increasing; they are all free. Self-buffs are also considered official. surviving in the battle zone Participants are free to use cakes/potions to help them survive more in battle. But potions with more than 500 HP are forbidden. Potions for attribute increasing are allowed. Skating potions or similar things are also allowed. claiming your prize Every member of the winning team will receive the same prize, announced at the beginning of contest. The host/or maybe judges will deliver the prize just after the tournament ends. You are ready to join and win! ?m087

Participating Restrictions character level: 30 (not below or above lv 30) Since it is a contest for newbies, we should use newbie chars. What better newbie chars than the first class ones? HP lower limit: 1300 In order to make the battles last more, we need to survive more. 1300 HP is a nice number, it can be obtained by adding CON (like 27-40). This will also leave less points for increasing attack power, which is exactly what we need for long battles. Hunter class forbidden skill: Venom Arrow This skill has been improved lately and became too powerful for a newbie battle (it does 500 dmg per sec at lv 10). NO KYLIN equiment Kylin armors are for high levels, but from IGG's own reasons, they can be used even at level 10. We want fair battles! NO APPARELS, excepting HAT Apparels can hide Kylin armors, which are forbidden. Fork apparel can give Swordsman unfair advantage. We want fair battles for everyone! NO MANUFACTURING items Since most newbies don't know how to make such things, it would be unfair for others to use them. The lanterns are also forbidden. NO POTIONS with MORE than 500 HP recovery Since a level 30 character has around 1000-1500 HP, it would be weird to use potions that recover 1000 HP or more, so an upper limit of 500 HP recovery is needed. NO BUFFS, excepting the official ones Read the Participating Instructions. NO TWEAKS We want fair battles! NO POSSESSION Having a 2nd generation fairy with possession skill, is rarely seen between newbies. Anyone caught disobeying any of the restrictions above, will be automatically disqualified from the tournament! ?m086

Suggestions for building a good lv. 30 character

Swordsman	Hunter	Explorer	Herbalist
Weapon: Two lv 30 swords with 5% attack speed. If you cannot reach 140 speed, use the lv 25 two-handed sword. The ones from yellow box are the best. Armor The one from Skeletar chest, or one with +3 agi/str/con. Boots: The ones from chest give better defense, but if you can find ones with more agi/str/con are better. Gloves: Same as for the boots. Necklace: If you have pet with SP recovery, use HP/ movement necklace. Otherwise use SP recovery one. Rings: Use lv 30 unique rings with +4 str or agi. Pet: Use fairy full str or agi for attack. For defense use a full con fairy. SP recovery skill is a must. Skills: Sword Mastery lv 3-8 Illusion Slash lv. 10 Berserk lv. 1-6 Build: To have 1300 HP, you will need like 30 points into con. The rest can be used into agi, if you have enough to reach 140 speed. If not, just add all into str for better slash. Buff: Speed buff if helps you reach 140/210. Otherwise use attack buff, or maybe defense buff if it helps you survive.	Weapon: Lv 30 Tribal Short Bow thanks to the +5% speed bonus. Armor Skeletar armor has better defense, but if you want more attakc, you can use one with +3 acc +3con. Boots: Try to find some with more acc bonus for better attack power. Gloves: Same as boots, more acc is better. Necklace: If you have pet with SP recovery skill, use a movement speed necklace. Otherwise use a SP recovery one. Rings: Use the lv 30 rings with +4 acc. Pet: Acc fairy for more attack or con fairy to survive more. SP recovery skill is a must. Skills: Range Mastery lv 3-10 Dual Shot lv 10 Frozen Arrow lv 1 Windwalk lv 0-4 Rousing lv 0-1 Build: To have 1300 HP, you will need like 35 points into con. Adding more acc gives a better Dual Shot attack so you can kill faster. In case you want to survive more, add more con. Buff: Attack buff for offensive build, especially against magical classes. Defense buff to survive more.	Weapon: Use any dagger that gives you more spr or con, regardless the lv. Armor Lv 30 armor with more con or spr. From skeletar chest or yellow box. Boots: Boots with more con and spr. Some more dodge can also be useful, but con and spr are the main base. Gloves: More con and spr again. Hit rate is not needed. Necklace: None, since you have to equip the Wind coral. Rings: You can use only 1 ring since you also need to equip Thunder coral. Use lv 30 ring with spr/con. Pet: Spr fairy for offensive build, con fairy for defense. Magic skill is a must here. Skills: Lightning Bolt lv 10 Tornado lv 8 Build: To have 1300 HP, you will need like 30 points into con. Then add full spr or full con or any combination between. Buff: Defense buff for con build, speed one for spr build.	Weapon: Lv 30 staff with more spr or con. Use good staff in attack, b'cuz you can also have ranged attack, so you can combine it with spiritual bolt skill. Armor Lv 30 armor with more con or spr. From skeletar chest or yellow box. Boots: Boots with more con and spr. Some more dodge can also be useful, but con and spr are the main base. Gloves: More con and spr again. Hit rate is not needed. Necklace: Use movement speed necklace or one with more HP. In case you don't have enough SP, you can also use SP recovery. Rings: Spr or con rings lv 30. Pet: Spr fairy for offensive build, con fairy for defense. Magic skill is a must here. Skills: Spiritual Bolt lv 10 Heal lv 3-10 Harden lv 1-3 Recover lv 0-4 Revival lv 0-1 Build: To have 1300 HP, you will need like 30 points into con. Then add full spr or full con or any combination between. Buff: Choose the speed buff, since you can use your own defense buff as well.

Regarding tournament

I don't play on Caribbean server. Can I still join ?
Of course. Everyone can join. You only need to make a lv 30 char on Caribbean.
Unfortunately, in case your win, the prizes will remain here, you won't receive
anything on the server you play.

Why did you choose level 30 ?
After a detailed analysis, I came to conclusion that lv 30 is
the most significant level for this kind of tournament. IT is
a low level, perfectly for being called "newbie". It also
implies the first class advancement, which really represent
the lowest stage of a newbie. Not to mention that it also
reminds veteran players of their old days as a newbie.
Such nice memories should be revived and renew.


Can I make more characters lv 30 ?
You can make as many lv 30 chars you wish. However,
you can participate with only one character in tournament.

How can i test my lv 30 character to see if is good for tournament ?
You can simply call some in-game friends and practice at pvp bar.
I will also make a guild for tournament participants, so they can
communicate and organize themselves easier.

My character is weak and I can't win. Why should I participate ?
The purpose of this tournament is not to select the strongest players.
It is not to make you rich or famous. It is just for fun.
Even if you lose every time, you can still have fun playing.
And who knows, maybe sometime you will find a good team to join,
so you will also win. Enjoying the time is the most important.

Why aren't there any big prizes ? Why only some gems and little money ?
B'cuz the purpose of this tournament is not to make you rich.
This is not a way of making money. It is more like a way of using
the money you gathered for something you can enjoy.
The prizes of this tournament are more like a symbol of victory.
The chance to give all you can, in order to win, is the real prize.

Why only Hunter class has a forbidden skill ?
B'cuz that's the only skill which was improved in such way that
it is no longer for newbies, but for high levels.
It would cause to much imbalance in battle if it was used.

Are you sure the classes are balanced, with no overpowered one ?
I did my best to choose the details of this contest to make it fair
for all players and for all classes. There might be some differences
between the power of each class, but they are quite small.
A good strategy and cooperation between team members can overcome them.

Explorer seems to be stronger than other classes. Is he overpowered ?
Well, at first, he might look a bit stronger than the others, but not overpowered.
With the right build and equipment, every class ca have enough power to be
considered overpowered. The way you use the character makes the real difference.

Why is that 1300 HP lower limit ?
I made some tests to see how would a battle between lv 30 chars look like.
I first added full attack power to each class, the result: each class
could kill other classes in just one hit. That would be boring.
So i needed to reduce their power, while increasing their survivability.
And what better solution, than making them adding con, instead of str/acc/spr.
To obtain 1300 HP, a normal lv 30 char should add half of his points into con.
That should make the battles last longer and be more challenging.

How will you verify if someone is cheating ?
As you probably noticed, I only added restrictions that can be verified.
Most restrictions regard visual things (like apparels, buffs, equipment).
I can easily see if someone is using something forbidden, so is cheating.
Even for HP potions, I can see if someone's HP is restored with a large
amount or is restored little by little. That's how I verify them.
But for the cooking items that increase attack/speed/defense, that
cannot be seen so easily, therefore I cannot be 100% sure.
I prefer not to make false accusations than having to apologize later.

Why aren't the cooking items restricted, but only manufacturing ?
As I said before, cooking items are hardly verified, since are not obvious.
It would be very hard to know for sure if someone illegally uses them.
So instead of making false accusations, I prefer to let everyone use them.

Who are the judges ? And the GM ?
Everyone can become judge if he doesn't participate in contest.
Both judges and host will be using crusaders to watch the battle
from stealth, and maybe record it/ take photos.
Those who have journalistic skills can also make a nice report
about this tournament, to keep it as a nice memory.
As for GM, I dunno. In case some GMs will want to join as judges,
I won't stop them. More people means more fun.

What happens if the host is not online ?
That's in fact one of biggest concerns about this tournament:
the fact that I may not be able to play at the right time.
All I can say is that I will do my best to organize this contest.
I will also try to find other people willing to be host.

How many players you expect to participate ?
At least 8. That's the minimum number for creating 2 parties
and have a nice MvM battle. But the more players come in,
the more interesting the tournament becomes.

I don't want to participate. Can I just watch ?
Ya, why not? You can join as a judge or just as a spectator.
The number of spectators depends of how big are the parties.
Crusader with Stealth is a must, so you don't influence the battle.
I will also try to record the battles and upload them to youtube,
and post them on this forum so everyone can enjoy it.




Regarding game

I'm new in Caribbean server. Can anyone help me level up to 30 ?
Just join Newbie School guild and ask for a plvler. You can use it to lv up your own char.
Isle of Fortune(from Argent City) and Region of Demons(from Dream City) are good places for that.
Just be sure you change class before lv 30, because even at lv 30, you will still level up
from completing that quest. I tested that many times.

I'm new and I don't have money. How do I buy equipment and skills ?
If you become lv 30, you can just open the yellow box and you will have weapon and armor.
If you sell the other things you get, you can get enough money to buy skills and boots,gloves.
If you need even more money, read chapter 11 from Newbie School lesson 2 (link here).

I want better equipment than from yellow box and chests. How can I get ?
You can always farm equips by using Pucca 2x drop rate. Use piratia-database to search
what monsters drop the item you need and see which one has higher drop rate.
But the equips from yellow box are quite good, especially if you get ones with +3+3.
Try to lv up more chars and take their equips. You can also get them with free sockets.
Other way would be farm NSS and go open them. Or open PTM (pirate treasure maps).
Or you can just craft your own equipment using the new system.

How do I get lv 30 rings and necklace ?
Normal necklace can be bought directly from NPC for 105k gold (Babul Haven, from Shaitan).
Unique necklace can only be obtained from Unique Necklace Voucher, from mall.
As for rings, they are more accessible. You can either buy a Ring Voucher from award center
or get the lv 30 rings from in-game quests (I call them "title quests"). (link here)

Can I use caps for Ami ?
Of course. Even if that gives them few more stat points, it won't make such
a difference to call it unfair.

I want to add gems. What should I choose ?
Well, the gems you can add depends very much on how much you can spend for them.
I will just give ya a short list with the most useful gems for each part of equipment,
together with their price on Caribbean server.
Weapon - melee class: gem of rage(2-3 mil); chipped rage(6-8 mil); cracked rage(0.5-2 mil);
broken rage(less than 500k); fiery gem(50-100k); furious gem(50-100k); explosive gem(50-100k);
eye of BD(30-40 mil); az glare(70-90 mil); az aggregation (70-90 mil)
Weapon - magical class: gem of soul(0.5-1 mil); chipped soul(6-8 mil); cracked soul(0.5-1 mil);

I have gem, but I don't have money to buy ref. How can I use my gem ?
Refs in Caribbean server are like 5 mil each. If you have a lv 2 or higher gem,
you need to buy refs. It's the only chance. But in case you have a lv 1 gem,
you can simply use the fine ref from herbalist quest.
Just make a new herbalist lv 37 and do the "pirate compass" quest:
you need to use the apparel armor and the fusion scroll you received from
the yellow box, then talk to blacksmith apprentice in Shaitan City.
The fine ref cannot be traded, but you can give the gem to herbalist,
forge the gem, then give the equipment back to your char.
Of course you will need a socket in equipment to do that.

I have accidentally became lv 31. What should I do ?
The lv 30 restriction cannot be avoided. Your only chance is to
make a new char lv 30 and trade the equipments from old one.
It is just a lv 30 after all, not a big deal.
